ics:getvar

Returns the value of a Content Server variable.

Syntax

<ics:getvar
      name="varname"
      encoding="default"
      [output="variable name"]/>

Parameters

name (required)

Name of the variable.

encoding (required)

Encoding used to convert binary values to a string. The value of this parameter must be set to default.

output (optional)

Specifies an optional output variable. If this parameter is not specified, the output is streamed to the browser.

Description

The ics:getvar tag returns the value of a variable. If the variable does not exist, ics:getvar returns an empty string.

None.

Example

The following line retrieves the value of the Content Server variable username.

<ics:getvar name="username"
            encoding="default" />
